|100,000 Strong in the Americas Scholarship Application|
Partners of the Americas (Partners), the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and NAFSA: Association of International Educators are pleased to announce a limited number of registration scholarships to facilitate participation in the 3rd Annual 100,000 Strong in the Americas Capacity Building Workshop: What Works - Partnering in the Americas in Denver, Colorado on May 29, 2016, preceding the 2016 Annual NAFSA Conference.
Deadline to submit the application is April 15, 2016.
Workshop Purpose: The purpose of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas capacity building workshops is to provide specialized technical assistance to higher education institutions (HEIs), best practices in partnership development, and tips for success on how to stimulate and enhance programs that will increase study abroad programs between institutions in the U.S. and Western Hemisphere. The May 29th workshop will combine interactive sessions, plenaries, and a reception focused on creating and developing partnerships between HEIs in the region.
Scholarships: Approximately 10 scholarships with maximum amount not to exceed USD $250 each for registration to the Workshop in Denver are being offered by the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund. Please note that DOS, NAFSA and Partners reserve the right to fund any or none of the applications submitted.
Eligibility: To apply for this scholarship, applicants must be from a higher education institutions (HEI) in the Western Hemisphere outside of the United States.
Examples of eligible applicants include:
Applications from a diversity of HEIs, including public and private institutions, two-year and shorter-term degree-issuing institutions, and rural and urban institutions will be considered. Participants selected for these scholarships will come from institutions that represent the broadest diversity of HEI profiles to ensure that innovations and partnerships will support study abroad program replication across institutions that will help advance the overall goal of 100,000 Strong Americas.

Funding and Restrictions: These scholarships are supported through resources from ELS Educational Services. The proposed scholarships will be limited strictly to registration to the 3rd Annual 100,000 Strong in the Americas Capacity Building Workshop: What Works - Partnering in the Americas. All other registration costs and other costs associated with participation in the workshop are solely the responsibility of the applicant and/or his/her institution.
