PartnersConnect Code of Conduct and Community Engagement Rules


Thank you for being part of the PartnersConnect online community, hosted by Partners of the Americas. PartnersConnect is the member portal and platform for those interested in the work of Partners of the Americas to come, engage, and participate in various conversations to move the mission to connect, serve, and change lives further throughout the Americas. To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using the PartnersConnect community, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to follow the rules and guidelines set forth in this Code of Conduct.

Partners of the Americas encourages members to prepare for fruitful discussions to share successes, questions, challenges, provide feedback and other perspectives to ensure that PartnersConnect remains an open space for discussions related to the work of Partners of the Americas.


Encouraged

  • Be courteous and respectful, upholding the values of Partners of the Americas, in particular "empowerment" and "respect".
  • Post in the language you are most comfortable in (English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French).
  • Post discussions and comments that stimulate engagement and conversation, adding to the body of knowledge and resources for the Partners of the Americas network.
  • Include a signature tag on all messages within Forums with your name, affiliation/organization, and location.
  • In Forums, state the topic of your post concisely and clearly in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search.
  • Contact the Membership Unit team if you would like further clarification or guidance for these policies and appropriate conduct.

Discouraged

  • Do not attack others.
  • Do not post commercial messages, promotional material, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services.
  • Do not post political or religious messages.
  • Do not post anything that you would not want to be projected or that you would not want others to know came from you. Postings are not confidential.
  • Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. This includes, but is not limited to, posting another person’s private information or engaging in sexual or any other form of harassment.
  • Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner.
  • Do not send administrative messages such as “Remove me from the community.” Instead, change your settings or remove yourself from a community through your profile.
  • Do not create multiple profiles. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the community and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your profile settings. Contact the Membership Unit team if you experience trouble.
