Communities of Practice

Connect virtually today

One of the foundational values of Partners' mission is to connect. Connecting individuals and organizations across and within borders drives the everyday work of Partners and its members. To achieve this goal and increase connectivity, Partners of the Americas has online Communities of Practice (COPs) for members to join and participate in lively discussions on topics and geographic regions relevant to the Western Hemisphere. For decades, members have successfully connected through Chapter partnerships, professional and student exchanges, and volunteer opportunities. Now, these Communities of Practice provide an additional avenue to connect in a virtual environment.

Communities of Practice (COPs) are:

Open to all members!
For connecting with like-minded individuals!
For engaging in discussions with the Network of Partners of the Americas
For accessing and sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources among members

The Education and Global Citizenship COP is where those interested in education, international education and exchange, and global citizenship can share resources and knowledge, exchange ideas, and ask questions.

The Environment & Climate Action COP is where those interested in environmentalism, climate action, sustainability, and green technologies can share resources and knowledge, exchange ideas, and ask questions.

How to join a Community of Practice

Communities of Practice are located in PartnersConnect.

Go to PartnersConnect
Log in with your PartnersConnect username and password or create a new account.
Select the "Groups" tab on the menu bar.
Select "Communities of Practice" from the drop-down menu.
Select "+ Join Group" to join the Community of your interest.

Community of Practice Moderators

Community of Practice Moderators are volunteer member leaders who guide and monitor conversations and the sharing of resources, information, and knowledge within the Community of Practice.

Community Guidelines

All Communities of Practice and Moderators follow and ensure the implementation of the Online Code of Conduct for Community Engagement.

The Child Protection COP is a place where those interested in sharing resources, knowledge, and exchanging ideas and best practices in the area of child protection, combatting child labor, violence, abuse, and exploitation.
