Poster Sessions

The Partners of the Americas 2025 What Works Conference invites attendees to submit proposals for poster presentations to be featured during a dedicated Poster Fair. This is an excellent opportunity to share innovative ideas, research findings, successful projects, and best practices with a diverse audience of international and community development professionals.

 

Submission Process

  1. Eligibility: Poster presentations are open to all registered conference attendees, including individuals, organizations, and Chapter representatives.

  4. Deadline: All submissions must be received by January 20 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Late submissions will not be considered.
  5. Notification: Accepted presenters will be notified by January 31, 2025 and will receive further instructions regarding setup and presentation.
  6. Registration Requirement: All presenters must register for the conference. Registration details can be found here.

 

The poster proposal submission period is now closed.

 


Selection Criteria

Posters will be reviewed by the What Works Conference Committee based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance: Alignment with the conference’s themes of international and community development.
  2. Innovation: Introduction of new ideas, methodologies, or approaches.
  3. Impact: Demonstrated or potential impact on the community or field.
  4. Clarity: Clearly defined objectives, content, and conclusions.
  5. Engagement: Ability to stimulate discussion and interest among attendees.

Poster Specifications

  • Dimensions:
    • In-person: Posters should not exceed 36 inches by 48 inches.
    • Virtual: Posters should be in PDF format and not exceed 10MB.
  • Format (In-person only): Posters must be printed on lightweight materials suitable for mounting on easels or display boards.
  • Content
    • Title and presenter’s name(s)
    • Introduction and objectives
    • Methods, findings, and conclusions (if applicable)
    • Visuals: Charts, graphs, photos, or infographics to enhance understanding
  • Posts should have a professional appearance and handwritten posters will not be accepted.
  • Presenters are responsible for all the costs incurred for printing and bringing their posters to the conference.

On-Site Logistics

  • Setup: Presenters are responsible for setting up their posters in the designated area starting at 12:00 p.m. on the assigned presentation day, Thursday, February 20, 2025.
  • Display Duration: Posters will remain on display throughout the Poster Fair session.
  • Presenter Availability: Presenters are encouraged to stand by their posters during one of the networking breaks to engage with attendees.
  • Takedown: Posters must be removed by 5:30 p.m. at the end of Thursday, February 20, 2025. Any materials left behind will be discarded.

 

Virtual Logistics

  • Digital Format Requirements: Posters should be submitted in high-resolution PDF.
  • File Size and Resolution: Maximum size of 10MB, with resolution optimized for digital screens (e.g., 1920x1080 pixels).
  • Submission Deadline: Submit your PDF poster to PartnersEvents@partners.net by Wednesday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Late submissions will not be accepted.

All participants are expected to pay the registration fees, as well as airfare and hotel accommodation. Applying to present a poster does not guarantee that you will be accepted to present a poster.   

 

Deadline

The deadline for poster fair abstracts is January 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Notifications will be made by January 31, 2025.
